Are you a parent or teacher of teens? We’d like to interview you about teen’s social media use

WHAT’S THE RESEARCH ABOUT?
I’m writing to you as the parent or teacher of a teen. We are seeking parents/carers and teachers to interview for a research project on teens and social media.

We want to know what you think about how social media is influencing gender relations among young people. We also want to understand your attitudes and opinions about sexual image exchange among teens.

This information will be used to improve harm-minimisation strategies and policy and practice responses for Australian youth interacting with mobile and social media.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
We are keen to interview anyone who cares for or works with school-aged teens.
You might like to participate yourself, or you might know others who would be interested. We would be very appreciative if you could forward this invitation to such others, or through your networks.

WHAT YOU’LL BE ASKED TO DO
Participants are asked to take part in an interview at a convenient location. Interviews should take about an hour. You can participate by yourself or with friends who’d also like to participate. Interviews will be led by an experienced education researcher. Before you agree to participate, you’ll be given detailed information about the research. You will be compensated $50 to cover time involved in taking part.

The discussion will be confidential.

HOW TO BE INVOLVED
If you would like to participate, please contact Maria Delaney.

Warm regards,

Maria Delaney
